Wow - how does time fly!
Parker is just over 22 months old and is growing up WAY TO FAST....
We've been spoiled in that for the last ...oh lets say 14 months or so... Parker has gone to bed at 7:30ish and slept until about 6am ish....

SPOILED... SPOILED ... SPOILED.... The early mornings were tough for a while, but we got over that!

So, how are things changing.... well, we no longer have a child that wants to go to bed at a regular hour, but one that doesn't want to stay in his bed !!!
He has climbed out of his crib - yep, climbed over the railing, opened the door and came out to see what we are doing.. .multiple times in the middle of the night......

We decided to change things up!
We took the crib and utilized the 3-in-1 functionality! LOL
We turned it into a daybed!

We are 2 hours into our first night in the "big boy bed" and doing GREAT.

He went down without much trouble......

He has taken 1 tumble over the edge, but we had stuffed animals and blankets to soften the landing. A hug from mom and back to bed!!!!

Well its not NEARLY spring time yet here in Nashville with all this snow - but most of us got haircuts within the last few days! Parker got yet ANOTHER haircut and looks so handsome... Daddy got a slick trim up for his spiffy new sales position...which he is doing mighty well at I might add... and I decided that I needed to brighten and shorten my style for a different look.
Delainey .... well, we've been contemplating (and trying to agree) on what to do, so as soon as that happens, we'll put pictures of that up as well!

The night has come to bring college football to an end for this season! I am proud to say that the Oregon Ducks have made it to the big dance.... ok, all you readers out there, that know that this is probably not called the "big dance"; oh well! Thats what I'm callin' it! :-)

Nashville's Big Snow Event of 2011......

Sooooo - We have awoke to SNOW in Nashville....again! But this time, we got quite a bit! Delainey didn't have school so she stayed with Gram again today and got to play out in the fluffy white stuff with Uncle Kenny while the rest of us went on about our daily work! Fun fun fun....

I know that many people don't worry about snow at all, but in the South... ya see... people don't really know how to react. They don't drive well in it for the most part when it is just a dusting, but this was quite a bit!

Soooo.... I've been wanting to get Santa pictures for a few weeks now, and it has finally happened!
For the 30+ minutes that we stood in line Parker kept asking "Whats that???" "Whats that???" about Santa. PJ and I watched each child 1 by 1 go from smiling happy child to instant tears once they sat on Santa's lap. I thought for sure we would have a great experience and Parker would be his curious self......

This is the best shot we got.....

Parker is almost 20 months, and Delainey is 11 years old.

15 Months...... Already!~

I can't believe it has already been 15 months that we've been blessed with our son.
Parker was 15 months old on July 27th, and had his check up today.

STATISTICS:

26lbs 10oz (this is the 75th percentile) and 32 1/2 inches tall (this is the 80th percentile).

The doctor told us we had our "hands full"!

When he carried Parker on his lap to the other side of the room to see him run/walk. Parker went full speed until he ran into me. I thought the doctor was going to crack up laughing when he said "he doesn't stop until he runs into something does he?"

He is healthy and growing like a weed!

Its a CELEBRATION!!!!!

I absolutely can not believe that a whole year has gone by and Parker turned 1 this week.
Today we had a big 'ol birthday party planned for him that didn't necessarily turn out as per said plan. LOL!

The plans were set, the cake was decorated and sign was hung!

Delainey was so excited to get dressed up in her new dress and shoes to go get pictures taken.

I have held on to this outfit thinking it was a 12month size and would be too big for Parker. Good thing I looked at the tag and he is getting a chance to wear it because it is actually a 9month outfit and is just SOOOO darn stinkin' cute.

He left the hat on just long enough for us to take the picture. :-)

March 18th

Recovering from the first real "ouch"

So, you'll notice by the picture, that Parker has a nice little mark and slight discoloration/bruising smack dab in the middle of his forehead.

Well, we experienced his first fall in the bonus room recently. He gave us a good scare because he didn't want to cry (once again). The doctor said he was going to be fine, and this probably wouldn't be his last fall!

Jamie, Maisie, PJ, Delainey, Parker and I spent a few hours cruisin' Opry Mills mall today. Jamie is a GREAT friend with the cutest little munchkin Maisie who is 4 weeks younger than Parker. As they get older they interact with each other more and are so fun to watch. PJ and Delainey are usually not interested in the mall walkin, but today it was a family affair!

CiCi's Pizza Balloon Art

We LOVE a good bargain. especially with 2 kidlets now!

CiCi's Pizza has the $3.99 pizza buffet that is a STEAL. Darn it on us, because the soda is as much as the stinkin' buffet. Anyhow - this is an inexpensive treat out for us and Delainey really loves it!

The balloon art guy visited our table and proceeded to educate Delainey about how he'd paid for his college degree with the tips he earned twisting balloons.

Now that Parker is walking and can wander abou the house on his own, he definitely does that!

He was sitting in the office today going through his sisters books, then got bored with that and navigated to his room to play with toys!

Month in Review - February 2010

Hello there - It seems like I've been SOOO busy lately, that I haven't had time (or made time) to update the blog nearly as frequently as I'd like to or should have. So I'm going to do a "Month in Review" to cover all the exciting stuff we've been up to.

February 2nd
-- So my husband has said that I lost many of my brain cells when Parker was born. I disagree with him on a regular basis about this, but tonight I think he may be right.
I made dinner and we all went upstairs to eat in the bonus room. After a bit (meaning about an hour and a half or longer) we smelled something funky from downstairs.
Apparently I had forgotten about the tater tots i put in the oven and after a good bakin' they were good and done....

I just had to take a picture to document my lack of brain cells! LOL

February 4th

Delainey had a school project to do a "Plant Cell Model" but it needed to be something creative. I'm fairly creative, but couldn't think of anything other than helping her print things off the trusty internet and making a poster board.... BORING!!!!!!!!!!! Good thing Gramma Vona came to the rescue with her creative senses!

Delainey and Gram used a light bright to create her plant cell model. It turned out very good. I put saran wrap over the top to keep all of the pieces in place during transport to and from school.

She did a very good job!

February 7th

Parker is trying soooo hard to walk on his own. He still uses the table for a little balance. Here are some cute pictures from this evening.

Parker gets a new toybox

Delainey had 2 toyboxes that I got her many years ago in Seattle at IKEA. Neither of them were really used until recently. We painted 1 of them white with Delainey and put it in her room with her new bedroom set, and PJ and I painted the other one to go into Parkers room. It matches so good, and is great to have a place to put his toys!

He's not quite sure what it is or what he's supposed to do with it yet!!

February 26th

Fun with Friends

We had a couple friends over tonight for "Game Night". This was a BLAST! We love having friends over and entertaining. We had so much fun playing Apples to Apples that I personally have gotten hooked. I told PJ that I wanted us to try to host a Game Night once a month if at all possible.

One of our friends, Casey, thought it would be funny to play in Parker's car. . . . . the picture tells a thousand words! Awesome.

This was absolutely too funny. The best part was watching him try to get out of this! Keep in mind, Casey is a over 6' tall, so had his legs criss crossed in there!

Ok, so Parker is nearing 9 months old, January 27th to be exact :-), though if you go by weeks he is 37 weeks old. Confusing I know!

He already has 7 teeth, with that 8th one sure to pop through any day. He has been crawling for a while now and is VERY daring when it comes to his walking. He holds on to things, but barely with one hand. We think before we know it he'll be off and runnin'!

Soo, the excitement of this post is what his newest feat is. He has successfully stood up in his highchair on his own.

He was eating dinner like any other night, with one leg up on the seat. He started rocking and before we knew it, he had managed to stand himself up! We were by his side the whole time, so he wasn't in any danger of falling, but we quickly realized how mobile and big he is getting! WOW! We no longer have an infant son, I think we are truly into the toddler stages....sort of! I don't want to rush things, but he is so funny to watch!

Reality check - can you believe he'll be a year old in 3 months?!?!? Wholy Cow!

Haaaa - being that the hubs is from Ohio, he thinks it is a joke when we brace for 1-3 inches. Everyone rushes to the store to buy milk, bread, water.....they literally sell out!

I am so proud of myself! I successfully pulled off a Surprise Birthday Party for PJ this year!

Ya see, I had to do something extra special to make up for my froidian slip last year! I inadvertantly made a hair appointment for the night of PJs birthday last year and didn't get home until late. It WAS NOT intentional. It was a last minute (hey can you get me in this week?) type of thing, not something where i planned it by date!

So anyhow - I managed to get a group of friends to show up at the house for dinner, cake and good times, and also got him a gift that he had NO IDEA about!

We had a really great time!

Another year has come and gone - New Years Eve 2009

I can barely believe that 2009 has come and gone so quickly.

So many wonderful things have happened this year it is hard to know where to begin to reflect! Here are just a few of the many highlights of this year!

January 2009     - PJ turned 30!
April 2009         - Parker arrived!!!
- Family joined us in Tennessee to meet the newest addition
July 2009           - I had to return to work after spending a wonderful 10 weeks at home with Parker
August 2009       - Delainey started 4th Grade - she's the "upper classmen" now!
October 2009     - Delainey turns 10!
November 2009  - We celebrated 2 years marriage!
December 2009 - We've been in our house 2 years now

Those are some pretty awesome things! I look forward to many more milestones with my awesome family.

We are spending the New Years holiday with PJs family in Ohio this year!

Thank you for everthing. I love each and every one of you very much!

H1N1 has landed

Soooo -- its the day after Christmas and aren't you supposed to just veg out and eat left overs and watch tv all day, while the kids play with the new gifts/toys........

Not the Harrison's. We've got to be different.

Just kidding...... PJ went to bed last night not feeling real well, but thought a good nights sleep would kick it. NOT! He woke up Saturday morning sick. He had to work, so he headed out. He got home and went straight to bed.

He woke up Sunday morning SICKER THAN HE COULD IMAGINE. We loaded up the car to take him to a doctor..... keep in mind, it is not only 2 days after Christmas, but it is Sunday morning before 8am. We didn't want to go to the ER because we knew the looming hours of waiting would do none of us any good.

We finally got in to see the doctor and got the dreaded news! POSITIVE --- PJ officially has the H1N1 flu. Lucky for us the rest of the residents in our household have been vaccinated! We are all safe.

PJ has felt like crap all day, and has been told he can not work for at a minimum the next 3 days..... nothing like getting sick during the busiest time of the year with his work.

We will keep everyone updated!

Delainey mentioned to us (Mom and Dad) that she was very happy with how great Christmas was this year, but that she was a little disappointed. She didn't get her number 1 item on her list....

A Nintendo DS

* According to Santa, this was the MOST requested gift by the kids visiting him!

Anyhow - after we had all enjoyed a busy morning downstairs we decided to go upstairs and relax, watch a little bit of the parade (what was left) and then tune into some football.

Delainey noticed that there were still wrapped presents under the tree in the bonus room. We tried convincing her that these were just fake boxes that had been there all season long.... she said "No Momma, these have tags on them"....

We told her to open up the gifts since she was the lucky recipient of the remaining gifts.

Christmas 2009

Christmas at the Harrison house was wonderful!

Filled with family, good food, and good times!

The morning started off early with Delainey reminding us that it was time to go see if Santa had come to visit! (Which he had!)

Delainey got some jewelry and great doll clothes and accessories for her "Our Generation" doll and horses. She is set with lip gloss and bathroom supplies too :-).

Parker's attention span for an 8 month old was what one could expect. He was more intersted in the noisy wrapping paper until we got the wonderfully noisy toys put together!!

Santa has arrived at The Harrison household

By all accounts, it appears that Santa has arrived!

After many last minute hours (see previous post about getting things done in a timely fashion at home), all the packages are wrapped and placed under the tree. The stockings are all hung, and the cookie and milk have been left out for Santa......

It appears that Santa has already arrived by press time of this post!

The cookie has been munched on, as well as a few pieces of candy! Santa also left Delainey & Parker a little note (as he has done in years past!). Here are some pictures of the full Christmas Tree and the gifts I can find that Santa left..... don't want to snoop too much, I'll leave that part up to Delainey!

Procrastination at its finest!

For those of you that now me pretty well or for any length of time you will probably get a chuckle out of this.

I've always been a pretty darn organized jperson/employee/co-worker. I've got spreadsheets, and spreadsheets for spreadsheets, and am pretty darn put together. Well, before baby boy arrived anyhow - hubby seems to think Parker gained all those brain cells since i tend to forget simple things these days!

Anyhow - in my personal life, i'm not so organized. I do have spreadsheets to keep some stuff organized, but I can't seem to get things done when they are supposed to be done (ie.... laundry, dishes, birthday cards mailed, holiday cards mailed......santa pictures!).

Soooo, today - Yes, TODAY, Christmas Eve, I decide that I have got to get the kids pictures taken with Santa. I have been meaning to do this for weeks now, but had literally just run out of time. Well, lucky for me, I had the day off, so I decided to brave the mall to meet Santa. I got up and at em, got Delainey showered, hair all done, got Parker up and bathed and headed off to the mall. I originally thought Santa wouldn't be available until noon, so my thought (to avoid some of the crazy crowd) was to get there when the mall doors opened, do some last minute shopping, then arrive at Santa's stand about an hour early prepared to stand in line!

I got to the mall at 9:45am (45 minutes after they opened). Found an up front parking spot - you know the one designated for pregnant women or moms with infants.....SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then went in. Walked by the Santa stand and saw folks standing in line already...yikes! I struck up a casual conversation and found out that Santa would be out in 15 minutes!! Talk about AWESOME! We were the third people in line.

Soooo - Christmas is the hubs' favorite holiday, so by the time Christmas creeps up on us we have MANY trees up in the Harrison household.

We are almost done with tree's for this season - only 1 left to complete.

We have 1 in the bonus room.

1 in Delainey's room......

1 in the formal living room........

Parker is checkin out the tree and pretty lights with daddy~!

and a total of 5 in the kitchen / dining room area. I know this sounds a little nuts, but 3 of them are tiny trees on the over look from the kitchen to the formal living room - they aren't decorated, just add to the ambiance. There is a "half" tree wall hanging that is decorated with all the new baby ornaments we bought for Parker. We have another in the dining room. It is so pretty. Red and White to match the kitchen.

Every time we turn around Parker is doing something different.

He started crawling about a month ago and now he is SPEEDY! He is gettin' in to lots, and believe it or not trying to walk. He pulls himself up on everything and just wants to go... go... go...

He also has his 5th tooth!

The Good - Bad List 2009

This is an annual tradition that has been ongoing since 1974. WOW!!! Thats quite a feat grandpa!!

Every year the grandkids put in their picture or "theme" request and Grandpa Jim makes it happen.
For 2009 Delainey asked for a Pug, Madison asked for an elaborate scene with Santa, soccer and Tennis, and since Parker was born in 2009 when the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Stanley Cup and the Pittsburgh Steelers won the Superbowl it was only fitting to have those logos on his Good Bad list. Grandpa also incorporated the Pirate "P" in there in his name!

For all of December we get to keep track of all the "goods" and "bads" for Santa!!

I'll take some pictures of Delainey's good bad lists of years past to showcase them, they are SOOOO neat!

Delainey's Room Makeover - The Finished Product

Its finally done!!!

We got the furniture delivered, put in place, and the room all cleaned for Delainey's grand entrance!!!

I was honestly probably more excited than she was, but oh well!

Here is the bed, nightstand and a little bit of the dresser - she's also got a chair to lounge in, and her horses all around her!

This is the dresser/mirror and media stand for when she gets a tv in her room again!

The pictures truly don't do it justice! Its very pretty!

We told her this would be her set until she graduated!

The reaction was shock i think!

She hugged us and told us thank you and that she really liked it.

Delainey's Room Makeover - Part 3

Sooo - we got her new furniture from Rooms to Go Kids. We LOVE the furniture, but are a little disappointed in the whole arrival/delivery process.

I was told that it would be here between 9a-1pm. That was fantastic. Still gave us time to hang out with the visiting grandparents and do the Opryland thing!

PJ saw a RTGK truck drive through our neighborhood at 8:15 and I was SOOO excited thinkin' "right on" they are going to be early and make our day!

Its now...... 1:30pm and I'm calling them.... "they are running behind and should be at your house by 2pm ma'am"

Now its 2:15pm and they are "still running behind, as soon as we talk to the driver we'll call you"..... NO PHONE CALL......

Its now oh 3:30pm and they FINALLY arrive..... 2 little "gentleman" hop out of the truck and I immediately think "oh my goodness; how in the heck are they going to get this furniture up my 3 flights of stairs (including the front steps)".......

Well - they rolled the boxes end-over-end up all three sets of stairs, and slid the boxes across our hardwood floors.... LOVELY! I haven't done it yet, but they will hear from me! I'm very good at complaining! :-)

Delainey's Room Makeover - Part 2

Sooo - its Saturday morning and the painting is ALL DONE! It looks BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now we are just waiting for the surprise to be complete - The new furniture to be delivered!! Delainey knows that she is getting a new bed, but nothing about the even bigger suprise yet to come!

Delainey's Room Makeover #2 - Part 1

Soooo, in May 2008 I wanted to surprise Delainey with a room make-over. She was really into the Hannah Montana craze at the time, so one weekend I thought it would be cool to surprise her with a new room!

I went out and got the paint and all the Hannah Montana accessories I could find and started my project (in the middle of the night, when i usually get my best burst of energy :-)).

It was really pretty, and she liked it - but informed me that she really liked horses better and would have preferred that for her bedding!

Bad Mommy!

Soooo - on Thanksgiving night, after letting Delainey pick out her new wall paint color, we started the project of re-painting..... with Grandpa's help! We figured we'd put him to work 2 Thanksgivings in a row - He painted Parker's new room last year on Thanksgiving weekend when they came to visit!

The color of choice was Chocolate Turtle...... don't worry - wait 'til you see it!

Hockey Night in Nashville

So we are pretty spoiled when it comes to going to events! We get to attend Nashville Predators games fairly often thanks to PJs work, which has season tickets in the "all you can eat, family zone". It is always so much fun and Delainey LOVES to go. It is a treat for all of us and at the right price :-).... bonus!!

This night we got different tickets from a customer that PJ helped during his work day, so he and I (and Parker) and his friend Wes & Amy sat together while Grandma Vona, Uncle Kenny & Delainey sat in the work seats.

Busy, Busy Week

Helllloooo there! This has been such a busy week for us it seems like!
Parker has been fighting off a cold - NO, he does not have the flu, just a cold and teething pain/discomfort.
Speaking of Teething he has 4 NOW! Yep, four teeth!

1 week ago yesterday (Nov 7th) he started CRAWLING!! Yep, he is crawling! He pulls himself up on lots of stuff too. When he wakes up in the crib, we go in to get him and he is sitting up lookin' at us or on his knees looking over the edge! Its very cute!

Delainey lost another tooth.... and the tooth fairy blessed her with a dollar or so in change! She was very excited!

Delainey got a new haircut too! Still longer in the front, but short in the back to hopefully be easier to care for and dry when getting ready for school!

Work has been CRAZY busy for me....i'm not sure why, maybe i'm just losing my time management skills. Oh yeah - maybe its that we don't sleep all that much in the Harrison house! ha ha ha

We wanted to wait until he could sit up.... that was only a few mere weeks ago, so today was the day! I can not believe the weather was SO beautiful for us. It is Nov 14th and 70 stinkin' degrees outside.

Its been 2 Years!

I can not believe that 2yrs has come and gone so quickly.

In November 2007 at this time I was enjoying "liquid sunshine" in Jamaica for our Honeymoon!

This is us at our Jack-n-Jill Bachelor/Bachelorette Party at the Stage in Downtown Nashville!

Then a short couple of weeks later we purchased our first home, and now couldn't be happier!

Howdy - its time to add some more pictures and information!

For starters, Parker is continuing to grow up into such a cute little boy, and out of the "baby" phase. On Monday, November 2nd he was 27 weeks old.

CRAZY!!!!! I can't believe it's been 6 months since he was born!

Anyhow - this past Sunday (11/1/09) he finally reached a milestone that we've been hoping for! He sat up on his own!!!!!!!! Now that he can sit up, he is so much more active it seems like. He can roll over and sit up without any help! He is so funny. This is the picture that Daddy took after he sat up on his own for the first time!

In addition to the sitting up, we have transitioned Parker from a formula diet to a cereal and formula diet! He is doing GREAT. He is eating 3 meals of rice cereal a day, and filling in with the liquid dessert!!

He is getting so close to crawling, and even trying to walk when holding on to the furniture! Our next stop will quickly be the baby supply store (of some sort) to invest in a gate to make sure he doesn't tumble down the stairs!!

Halloween 2009 has come and gone!
With the addition of Parker this year, we didn't spend as much time going from door to door, but we still had a great time!

Delainey was a "Cheetah".... and don't call her just a cat because she was quick to point out the fact that she isn't just an ordinary cat!

I can't believe she looks so grown up!

Mommy was a Prisoner. This was a last minute costume that I got late Thursday night so that I could dress up at work! It was comfortable and fun!

Daddy didn't dress up, offically! He was the "New Dad" for halloween! He took pictures and went trick-or-treating with us though!

Grandma & Grandpa Harrison couldn't be hear so they sent the softest most plush teddy beary with his cute litte Halloween Sweater!

THANK YOU!!! We have it up on display, along with the card, rather than use it as a toy!

Parkers 6 Month Check-up!

Sooo, today was Parkers 6 month "well baby" check up!
We got to the dr's office and it was PACKED!!!!!!!!! It always amazes me when places like that are so busy during the middle of the day.... Don't people work!
Ohhhh... I guess I'm one of those people when I take time off work to care for the kidlets and family!*!*!*!

Anyhow - He is a happy, healthy baby who is growing and progressing VERY well.

He is 18lbs 2oz and 28" long. - that equates to the 75th Percentile for his weight and the 90th Percentile for his length.
If Daddy has his dream we'll have a 6'2" Left Handed Pitcher for the Pirates one day !?!?!?

He is all current on his vaccinations and is also protected for the H1N1 Swine Flu. Both him and Mommy got their vaccinations today!

Football Sunday around the house!

Another weekend of not doing much around the house and WE LOVE IT!!!
Parker is not feeling perfect yet, still has a nagging cough. Mommy catches up on sleep and Daddy catches all his sports games, and hopefully they do him proud and pull out a W.

Parker is starting to sit up so much better these days, still can't do it on his own, but on the couch he can.

Birthday Bowling Party

Today Delainey got to celebrate her 10th Birthday with her friends.
We went to the bowling alley with 9 other kids! It was a BLAST. The bowling alley has obviously done this before because the timing couldn't have been better! Just when the kids were starting to get tired and disinterested..... out came the pizza!

Delainey had a great day with her friends (Gretchen, Madison, Brooke & little sister Gracie, Taylor and her brother Austin, Isaac &Alex, and Kailey).

We've determined that the baby bath is not gonna cut it any longer for giving Parker his baths. We've switched to our bathtub, but he wiggles and squirms so much that he ends up spinning around, which is fine, but today we tried something different.

Daddy handed him to me in the shower.... this works well, and really seems to relax him just before bedtime (and after a messy food sampling session!)

Now I know, some people may not agree with this method of bathing, but it works well and with Daddy's help it is quick and easy!!

Delainey sure is growing up! I can't believe she is already 10 yrs old.... although she acts 16 at times!! Ha ha ha

On October 12, 1999 Delainey was born, and now 10yrs later she is still a beautiful little girl!

We haven't had a party yet because her birthday was during the week, that comes this weekend (with family) and next week (with friends) while she is out of school on Fall Break.

Not to digress, but I don't ever remember being out of school this much when I was younger! The child has over a week off for Thanksgiving! Oh, pardon me, part of it is "planning days".... anyhow - back to the main event - Delainey turns 10~

We did go to the Nashville Predators game to celebrate her big day! It was a lot of fun! It was the first time Parker had been to a hockey game so I had fun taking pictures!

Parker gets his SECOND haircut

Parker will be 24wks old on Monday, and he just had his 2nd haircut today. We took him and daddy in this morning, and decided to give him more than just a trim.... that was probably more mommy than daddy!

The gal at Sportsclips did a GREAT job. He wasn't so keen on the idea this morning, unlike last time. Maybe it is just that he is more mobile these days. He didn't want to sit still for very long... and add into the equation that he was sleepy and maybe a bit hungry and you have a touch situation for the stylist!

He now looks like his hair is very blonde!! He looks so grown up for being so young still!! We just can't get enough!

Penn State Fun!

So, since the hubs is a HUGE Pittsburgh sports fan (Penn State, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Pittsburgh Steelers) I try to find fun stuff for him and/or us that represent the teams. We've got Parker Steelers outfits already. Uncle Dave & Aunt Cathy got him a Penn State sweat suit for when he gets a bit older. I've ordered various blankets from a gal that PJ knew when he was very young. The families were friends.

Soooo, anyhow - today I surprised PJ with a special food dish for the game!

I ordered it through a school fundraiser. PJ said it actually tasted pretty good (it came with a vinagrette sauce mix).

I don't know if you can tell, but the pasta is shaped like little Nittany Lions.

And to top it off, Penn State won something ridiculous like 53-3.

Looks like my team spirit worked!!!! LOL.

Parker is trying his darndest to crawl. He does the "army crawl" with his legs up under him and schooches on his arms..... If only he could get the hands to move at the same time as the legs!!

Welllllllll...... we sure had a crappy sports weekend. All of our teams started off big and strong, but somehow managed to come away with a big fat LOSS!

Penn State started off strong with Clark throwing for a touchdown right out of the gate, but apparently couldn't keep up the momentum to walk away with a W. Daddy was nice enough to let me sleep while he watched the game (and Parker).

On to Sunday, when we parked ourselves in front of the TV for a little NFL action. What a dissapointing outcome that was. The Steelers had a lead for the majority of the game and somehow ended up losing, making them 1-2 on the season. We can't wait for Polamalu to return and help us get some more W's. The Seahawks, with Matt Hasselbeck out with a rib injury, couldn't manage to fend off the Chicago Bears..... Better luck next weekend in the sports category!

PJ said to me tonight that he had a new perspective.... even though his teams are a VERY important part of who he is, no matter if they win or lose, he can look at our beautiful children and smile!

I LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!

Parker will be 21 weeks on Monday, and yep, he's already got a tooth.

Celebrity Citing!

Well, some of our friends have told us that there isn't much to do in Nashville.... oh Pshaw.... there is tons to do and see!

PJ and I had date night tonight while Delainey was spending the weekend with Grandma Vona. We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Green Hills and had a great dinner. Can you believe we waited 30 minutes for a table at 8:10pm.... CRAZY!!!

Sooo, long story short - we sit down and notice that 3rd place American Idol runner-up DANNY GOKEY is sitting next to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We kinda got a little start struck - just a little. We didn't bother him during his meal, but PJ managed to shake his hand and wish him the best of luck with everything. He was very gracious and very nice!

After a little research, we learned he just signed with a division of RCA Nashville on Sept 1st, and should have his country single out in November 09.

Woo Hooo.... we love us some Danny Gokey!!

Daddy is a HUGE train lover. He always wanted to be a train conductor when he was younger, so now and again it comes up in either conversation or something he receives (holiday gifts, ornaments, etc).

I was shopping for Parker (shocker !) and found the cutest shirt and bloomers/underpants at the Target One Spot, so I couldn't resist taking pictures to show everyone.

Parker is growing so much, he can't wear some of these cute things we've gotten him!

Parker is not the best sleeper at night, but once in a while we get in almost a full nights sleep! Everyone has been telling us to put cereal in his bottle. We don't want to do that, but decided to give cereal a try tonight!

We've arrived back home from our journey to Ohio. Both kids did great on both the drive there and the drive home!

I can tell you that at least 3 of us are probably dog tired today, but it was well worth it to see the family and hang out.

Brian & Margeaux Vair's Wedding

PJ was in his childhood friends wedding yesterday. This was when we finally arrived. Parker got a new pair of jeans and a sport coat for the event!!

It was a beautiful outdoor wedding and a very fun reception!

We've Arrived in Ohio

We've made it to Grandma & Grandpa's house in Ohio (aka PJs parents). The weather is BEAUTIFUL. Not to hot, but sunny and a very nice light breeze!

PJ is in Brian Vair's wedding tonight and Parker will make another wedding appearance. Delainey has opted out of the formal event to spend time with her cousin Maddie. Before that happens though her and grandma have started playing in Aunt Carrie's old prom dresses! So, i'm showing pictures so that one day I can embarass her in front of her boyfriends....what, no, take that back, she doesn't get to date until she is 30!!!

4 Month Check-up

Today was Parkers doctors appointment. The doctor said he is a very healthy boy. He weighed in at 15lbs 12oz and 26inches long! He is in the 75th percentile for length and 50th for weight.

While we were waiting for the nurse to finish her "assessments" she let parker play with the stethescope! Look at this picture..... could this be a vision of his future. LOL

Good Morning everyone! Yesterday was an eventful day for the Harrison Family.... sort of! Parker has what we have come to knows as "Rock Star Hair", and while it is very cute, it was growing so fast that it was getting in his eyes! He was beginning to resemble a ragamuffin child!

We scheduled his first hair cut at 18 weeks old.... Crazy!! I don't think Delainey had this much hair until her 2nd birthday at least :-)

This is what he looked like just beore we started his haircut. Daddy was a GREAT "seat" for him.

He didn't mind the process at all, and for not being very old he sat pretty still and didn't cry at all!

My previous post said that we took Parker to his first baseball game last night.... well, I was incorrect.

I'm sorry Grandma & Grandpa.... the first few weeks of Parkers life went by so quick that I didn't remember us going to the game! But we did.

Parkers First Minor League Baseball Game

We decided to go to a baseball game tonight! The weather was PERFECT for baseball, but we were kinda spoiled and got to sit in Daddy's work skybox!!! Wheewww.. This is potentially the final homestand of the season, unless the Sounds pick up the pace and win a few games against Memphis (who is in first ahead of them) and we make it into the playoffs. I can't believe this is the first game we've been to since Parker arrived.....so many other things occupied our time!

It seems like so long ago that this is where Mom & Dad (PJ & I) met, and spent most of our waking hours while we were both working here.... anyhow - thats a story for a different day!

Delainey loves the games, but would rather be closer to the action!!

We took Delainey and Parker to the Sounds game tonight. The evening started off quite eventful. Delainey got carsick and got a new shirt once she got to the game. Poor girl doesn't do well in the car sometimes! You'd think that nice large luxury cars would be nice to ride in, but it is so "smooth" that she doesn't do well..... gosh, i can't imagine if we ever go on a family cruise!

Parker did GREAT. We walked around a bit, then went up to the skybox to take in the game. Parker didn't stay awake long enough to get pictures with his eyes open, but we wanted to capture the event anyhow.

Parker is 18 weeks old already! I absolutely can not believe it! He was attempting to crawl this weekend. He did the "schooch" across the bed and made it the whole distance. It was SOOO cute, but I'm sure he'll be off and runnin' in no time and we'll be wishing we hadn't urged him to start this so soon :-)

Good morning! When i sent Delainey and Dad upstairs last night after dinner to do the nightly ritual to get ready for bed while I cleaned up after dinner I never knew what I was in for :-).

Just kidding! But really.... who ever thought that the term "Go Play With Your Brother" would turn into this..............................

Ok, so the picture is a little goofy, but Delainey put her toy hat from her horse stuff on her brother and decided to start snapping pictures! I couldn't resist putting it up here on the blog, because one day he will punish her for this!! ha ha ha.... and I can show it to girlfriends one day in the future.... the VERY distant future!

Hello there! Its Sunday night and we are gearing up at the Harrison household for another work/school week! Lets all cross our fingers that things go better with school work this week! We spent a good amount of time yesterday working on math and numbers with Delainey!

Parker got a bath and along with that we have to make sure his hair is dried! We literally do this with the hair dryer! He was pretty tired, but managed to smile and grin at the whole thing.

I've got this picture to show how long his hair is and how it looks when its clean!, and if I can figure out how to download a video I will do that also.

Big sister realization!

Delainey was helping out around the house this evening and said she'd like to hold Parker for a minute.

Dad put him in her arms and she promptly said...."Dad, take him! He's put on some pounds since the last time I held him. He's too heavy!"

It was too funny not to put on here!

I am trying my hardest to keep him on the WONDERFUL schedule that Dianne (childcare provider) has him on. He is learning (slowly but surely) that he really can soothe himself. We knew he wasn't wet or hungry and his eyes were closed as he was cryin', so he rolled over mostly to his tummy and finally fell asleep, with some help from mommy rubbing his back, while Daddy rubbed hers!!! Yayyy.

We have recently gotten the game RockBand2 for the Wii. We've had hours and hours of fun with the other games we have (Mario Kart, Horse Games, Wii Fit, etc), but wanted something that we could theoretically do as a family.

Well, I've become a widow! My husband is addicted to this game! After we've had dinner and usually sit and watch tv together, he is now "perfecting" his guitar skills. Today is Saturday, and now he and Delainey are both trying to perfect their skills. PJ is drumming and Delainey has moved from the microphone to the Guitar -- she tried the drums and has little to no rythym, so that was a tough one :-) --

Howdy...

Today is a weird day for me! I'm an emotional car wreck and I'm not sure why. Is this what Post-Partum is? I have a GREAT life, a GREAT family... Delainey stresses me out a bit with her studies but thats ok too, and I have a GREAT job that I LOVE.

Maybe it is the continuous lack of sleep and the fact that if I try to do anything at night, the minute I sit down to watch tv with the hubster, or get online I have this problem of falling asleep!

I'm exhausted today and maybe thats why little things that wouldn't normally bug me off or make me cry are doing so!!

Its almost the end of the week!

Homework Hell

Uggghhhhhh...... Does anyone want to tutor my 4th grader in math?!?!! I am NOT the person to try and explain to her that some things in math (and school work in general) will NEVER change.

It is only Day 2 of her new school year and I'm struggling.
I'm sure it is a combination of her not knowing the stuff, her getting used to getting up early every morning and actually doing something other than watching Saddle Club, as well as her frustration.

This was another one of those "venting" moments.
I truly hope Delainey has a lightbulb go off this year and all of a sudden it just "clicks".

Ok, so i really do love this blog and having the ability to share all the wonderful things in my life, and in some cases get on my "soapbox" and vent.
So, now is one of those times! Bare with me!
Obviously by the purpose of this blog, I've just had a baby. So, I am not super duper skinny.

Today, I was walking a candidate to her interview at work. I was apologizing for being all stuffed up due to a cold and she says to me.... "When are you due?".... I replied with "I'm Sorry?".... She asked me AGAIN when I was due.... OK. I'm not at my ideal weight, but OH MY GOD... I don't think I look pregnant. I have a small tummy, but once again, I don't think I resemble having a peanut growing in my belly!

I have good days and bad days in regards to how I look and how good my clothes fit, and ironically today (I thought) was one of the good days.

I've taken the liberty to force my hubby to take a picture of me and show you that I don't think I look pregnant. Not so pretty, due to it being the end of a LONG day, but still NOT PREGNANT.

Come on people.... Learn a lesson here.... DON'T ASK A WOMAN IF SHE IS PREGNANT UNLESS YOU ARE PRETTY DARN CERTAIN SHE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's made it to the top

Delainey is now the top dog in her school....at least thats how the saying goes.

Another school year has just begun and she is now in 4th grade! She is VERY excited, so hopefully that will last the entire year.

Of course we had to take the pictures for the first day of school.

She is getting prettier and prettier as she grows up.

Ok, so this new mom thing is tough... I know I know... I have Delainey, and I already want another precious baby, but it definitely takes some adjusting to again!

I can't get enough work done during the day since I can't stay and burn the midnight oil anymore, so here I am working on Saturday.

PJ is golfing - FINALLY! I feel so bad, since he's taken on the role as husband and daddy he doesn't get to play nearly as much as he'd like to!

I am at the office working - Yes, I am working - but I took this picture and thought it was ADORABLE so had to share it!

Once i get home tonight and have a chance to download more pictures that we've taken i'm guessing i'll post again!

Parker Rolls Over

Oh my goodness !!! My baby boy is growing so fast it is amazing.
He was 15 weeks this Monday (8/10/09) and he just rolled over this morning!
Last night Daddy and I were playing with him on the floor in his room and he was trying so hard to get his whole body over..... well this morning he rolled onto his tummy and lifted his head up as if to say.... PICK ME UP!!!!!!!!

Okay, so today was not the easiest of days. Parker started daycare outside of our home. The gal thats been watching him since I returned to work has to return to college.... darn her! I tried to convince her to stay home and take online courses and work for us, but the college life has drawn her in. Heck, who can blame her!
Anyhow - Parker started with Dianne this morning and did GREAT. They absolutely loved him and said he was such a charmer!
The lady that watches him is WONDERFUL (Thanks Jennie) and PJ and I are lucky to have found a safe and happy home environment to take our baby boy too!

13 Weeks 6 Days

Well, we haven’t been to the doctor in a month, and don’t go until September 1st for his 4 month appt, so we decided to weigh him at home! My guess was that he was only about 13, maybe 14 lbs…..

Parker weighs in at 14 1/2 lbs today!! Oh my goodness how he is growing up!

This is him snoozin on the couch. Yes, I know, I should be sleeping when he is sleeping, but I just don’t do that very well! I find so many things that need to get done……….. Like this!!!

Today we went to our birthing class reunion party. The hubbster wasn't overly excited about going, but I LOVE babies (mine especially) and wanted to go show him that our precious one was the cutest of them all.
I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parker stole the show, AGAIN!
Everyone loved his hair, and commented on how big he was for his age. Darnit people, my kid is not big! He doesn't even have any fat rolls yet!!! :-)

Can you believe that our baby boy is already 12 weeks old!! ((yesterday, July 20th actually!)) He is growing so fast. Everyday he has a new look or smile or giggle that is so exciting to experience!
I remember doing this so many moons ago with Delainey and being amazed then too!

The Harrison family is born and bred Pittsburgh sports fans. Parker already has a Steelers Jersey custom made with his name on it. He has a Pirates onesie outfit, a Penn State outfit to grow into, now he just needs a Penguins outfit!!!

He did receive a Seahawks cozy blanket and a Mariners outfit, so we are representing the West Coast as well!

It was a tad busy in there, so by the time they got to us, he didn't want to cooperate overly well.

Today is April 29th and we get to go home.

We had Parker at The Women's Hospital at Centennial Medical Center and our experience was nothing less than AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work at the hospital so I know many people, and we had somewhat of a revolving door, but it was AWESOME. We were so well taken care of by friends, family, and staff that we'd consider doing it again just based on our life experiences up to this point.

THANK YOU EVERYONE for making this experience so WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!

Hello there!!!

I'm so excited to create this blog/page so that i can post my thoughts and pictures of Parker and our new enlarged family.

He arrived on April 27, 2009 at 4:45pm

He was 8lbs 1 oz // 20 1/2 inches long

It was an exciting journey from the pregnancy to the arrival.

I wont bore everyone with too many details, but the pregnancy was pretty rough for the first 17 weeks with me being sick every day from the moment I woke up til the time I went to sleep. After that it was great. I made it through the remainder of my pregnancy with no complications until the week before I delivered; which is when i stressed myself out and got my blood pressure a little high for a brief time.

I went in to the hospital for a planned induction on the morning of April 27th. When i got all settled in my room, my nurse told me that I would have been seeing them within a few hours that morning if I hadn't been planned because my contractions were already 3 minutes apart..... I was wondering what that constant abdominal pain was!! LOL.

I had a pretty easy labor throughout the day until they tried to sit me up and move things along. I started to feel woozy and turned white. Note to self, don't sit up!!

Anyhow - the actual active labor was really great. I pushed 5 times and 15 minutes later out came my precious little boy with a whole head of hair!
