Final Band Concert of 6th Grade

So - many of you may (or may not) know that Delainey has been taking part in school band for a few years now.
She started in the beginning of 5th grade playing the flute. She really enjoyed it.... for a while.... then like most kids, the constant nagging from mom "go practice your flute" .... "did you practice your flute today" got a little old and here we are coming to the end of 6th grade (Yikes - but thats a whole different topic in itself) and she has made the decision that she doesn't want to play the flute anymore. We had a large band concert last week at what will be her future high school with the high school band members and then last night they had her Spring Concert at her school (West Wilson Middle School).
The band sounded very good for a "beginning" band.
They played some patriotic music and member of each branch of our service stood during their portion of the song.. The crowd applauded. That was awesome.
They closed the night with a montage of Beattles songs and sounded REALLY GREAT!

Good Job Delainey!
I'm proud of you.
Sorta wish you would continue, but understand you are coming into your own little "person" and just don't want to do that anymore.

Here are a couple of pictures. I'm still not very good at this new camera... plus - we were quite a ways away.
Delainey doing her "thing" - she really is very good!

Little brother listening oh so contently...

She found us in the crowd - please ignore the basketball net - i was zooming in and couldn't get it out of the picture!

He's 3..... Happy Birthday Parker

3 Years ago yesterday (4/27/09) we were blessed with the most amazing gift!
Parker Joseph Harrison
April 27, 2009
Kelli, Delainey, Parker & PJ Harrison

Never in a million years did I imagine that I could have so much love for not only my child, but my 2nd child.
He is a ray of sunshine added to our house. His father, sister and I all love him dearly!

Today, we celebrated his 3rd birthday in typical Kelli fashion.... meaning that I planned his birthday party in somewhat record time.

His 1st Birthday party was interesting to say the least.... The Nashville Flood occurred that weekend and added an interesting twist to the festivities.

His 2nd Birthday party was at "Ginny's" (Grandma Vona) house. It rained, so thank goodness we had a back-up plan and her garage was huge enough to move the bouncy house inside!

Now - Parker has definitely developed likes and dislikes. Some of his likes are Tractors, Dumptrucks, dirt, big trucks, Thomas, race cars, etc.... just to name a few.

So I decided to (with the help of hubs and a girlfriend of mine) make all the stuff for his party (cake, food, goodies, etc) with the help of my new found addiction "Pinterest".

It was a BEAUTIFUL day! We rented the cabana in our neighborhood and had a really great afternoon. 80' and a light breeze is the perfect backdrop for a birthday party!

I made this cake!!!!
I'm not sure the picture does it justice, but the lop left is a hill that the tucks drove up to dump rocks below!

All the goodies set up and ready to be ate!
Marshmellow pops!!

Fruit cut into shapes! We did this ourselves too!
Obviously the theme was "construction/big trucks" so I got a
big truck, put chips in it and made individual 7 layer dips!
licking the frosting off one of the "workers" on his cake.

I think he has his first girlfriend!

I can't believe how much she has grown up!

STATS....

59 1/2" tall.....WOW!
Currently in the 25th percentile. Not to bad!

Pictures to come when I get to a computer rather than an iPad!

Easter 2012.... oh ya, and my birthday too!

This year we traveled up to Ohio to spend the Easter holiday with the Harrison side of our family.
It was a GREAT weekend, but I missed my mom!
Not only did I miss Easter with her, I missed her birthday and mine.
Turns out she was sick near the end of the weekend and benefited from the rest I think!

The weather was GREAT in Ohio also - PJ and I got some time to just go out and run around town during the day while the kiddo's played with Grandma & Grandpa. When we got back we just hung out outside doing chores (mostly to enjoy the weather). PJ mowed the lawn and I washed the car!

Here are some pictures from our weekend.

My Oh My..........

Time sure does fly when you're having fun!!!

I suppose I could say that, or just be real and admit that work, family, life in general and...... as much as I hate to admit it....Facebook has taken up the majority of my time.

A lot has happened in the last 12 months for the Harrison Clan and my new goal is to keep this blog updated so that one day I may be able to print it out as a memory book....hopefully!

I am going to backtrack over the last year of the fun filled, somewhat action packed, yet fairly normal and uneventful life of PJ, Delainey, Parker and myself!

I'm going to call it a night!
Sleep tight friends and family!
Love you all!

Times are a changin'.....

Wow - how does time fly!
Parker is just over 22 months old and is growing up WAY TO FAST....
We've been spoiled in that for the last ...oh lets say 14 months or so... Parker has gone to bed at 7:30ish and slept until about 6am ish....

SPOILED... SPOILED ... SPOILED.... The early mornings were tough for a while, but we got over that!

So, how are things changing.... well, we no longer have a child that wants to go to bed at a regular hour, but one that doesn't want to stay in his bed !!!
He has climbed out of his crib - yep, climbed over the railing, opened the door and came out to see what we are doing.. .multiple times in the middle of the night......

We decided to change things up!
We took the crib and utilized the 3-in-1 functionality! LOL
We turned it into a daybed!
We are 2 hours into our first night in the "big boy bed" and doing GREAT.
He went down without much trouble......
He has taken 1 tumble over the edge, but we had stuffed animals and blankets to soften the landing. A hug from mom and back to bed!!!!

Wish us luck!!

Spring Chop!!

Well its not NEARLY spring time yet here in Nashville with all this snow - but most of us got haircuts within the last few days! Parker got yet ANOTHER haircut and looks so handsome... Daddy got a slick trim up for his spiffy new sales position...which he is doing mighty well at I might add... and I decided that I needed to brighten and shorten my style for a different look.
Delainey .... well, we've been contemplating (and trying to agree) on what to do, so as soon as that happens, we'll put pictures of that up as well!

A walking (or sitting) advertisement for SportClips. They always do a really good job!

A little blonder, and a little shorter with some layers.....

The National Championship Game !!!

The night has come to bring college football to an end for this season! I am proud to say that the Oregon Ducks have made it to the big dance.... ok, all you readers out there, that know that this is probably not called the "big dance"; oh well! Thats what I'm callin' it! :-)

Here are some pictures of Parker in his ducks "gear" that Grandpa Phil and Sherry got him for Christmas to represent the west coast!!!

Lovin on mommy!

Finally - A picture of the whole outfit!!!

Gotta have a drink with the big game!! Chillin' on dads lap!

Lucy - I don't want to play!

RUN....RUN.....RUN...... (while watching the game on tv)

I'm so darn stinkin' cute!!!

Nashville's Big Snow Event of 2011......

Sooooo - We have awoke to SNOW in Nashville....again! But this time, we got quite a bit! Delainey didn't have school so she stayed with Gram again today and got to play out in the fluffy white stuff with Uncle Kenny while the rest of us went on about our daily work! Fun fun fun....

I know that many people don't worry about snow at all, but in the South... ya see... people don't really know how to react. They don't drive well in it for the most part when it is just a dusting, but this was quite a bit!

Here are some pictures of my journey to work this morning!
This is the backyard looking down towards the neighbors! - I was driving past so you can't see our house!

Leaving the Neighborhood!
I know you aren't supposed to text while you drive, but nobody said anything about taking pictures with your phone.... LOL!!!

Another view from my drive to work!

I honestly didn't have any trouble driving in this (thanks to the truck) and thought it was beautiful!

I live near this field... you don't appreciate the beauty of your neighborhood until you see it like this!

Believe it or not - the is the parking lot at my office!!!!
Can you tell where it starts and ends!?!?!?!

Holiday Pictures 2010

Soooo.... I've been wanting to get Santa pictures for a few weeks now, and it has finally happened!
For the 30+ minutes that we stood in line Parker kept asking "Whats that???" "Whats that???" about Santa. PJ and I watched each child 1 by 1 go from smiling happy child to instant tears once they sat on Santa's lap. I thought for sure we would have a great experience and Parker would be his curious self......

This is the best shot we got.....

Parker is almost 20 months, and Delainey is 11 years old.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS.....
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!!!

15 Months...... Already!~

I can't believe it has already been 15 months that we've been blessed with our son.
Parker was 15 months old on July 27th, and had his check up today.

STATISTICS:
26lbs 10oz (this is the 75th percentile) and 32 1/2 inches tall (this is the 80th percentile).

The doctor told us we had our "hands full"!
When he carried Parker on his lap to the other side of the room to see him run/walk. Parker went full speed until he ran into me. I thought the doctor was going to crack up laughing when he said "he doesn't stop until he runs into something does he?"
He is healthy and growing like a weed!

Its a CELEBRATION!!!!!

I absolutely can not believe that a whole year has gone by and Parker turned 1 this week.
Today we had a big 'ol birthday party planned for him that didn't necessarily turn out as per said plan. LOL!

The plans were set, the cake was decorated and sign was hung!

Birdie, Bogie, Hole-in-One.....
Little Pro Parker is turning ONE!

Another view of the main cake and Parkers personal "destroy" cake.
Our friend Melissa made these cakes, and not only were they super cool, they tasted GREAT!!

The sign says it all!
